No, this isn’t the nation’s newest singing competition TV show. (Don’t we have enough of those already?) This is a search for a Rockstar Doctor of Chiropractic (a Docstar?) to be the newest member of our amazing practice! Think you have what it takes? GREAT! But before you tell us about you… let us tell you about us!
We know this is a BIG decision!
Whether you’re just graduating (or about to) or you’ve been running your own practice (or anywhere in between), we know it is complicated to decide on what your next step is going to be. That’s why we want to take some time to tell you about us, our practice, our city, and help you understand what we’re offering. This is not an offer for everyone. Where is it?
Our practice is located in Elizabeth City which is located on the Intercoastal Waterway. We’re about a 1-hour drive to Norfolk, Va. (And a 1-hour direct flight from ATL airport!) We are 45 minutes from the OBX (Outer Banks).
What’s it like there?
Indoor and outdoor activities abound! Elizabeth City is know as the Harbor Of Hospitality!

The Geography: Coast NC is perfection!
Right in the Middle of the East Coast.
While you don’t have to leave Elizabeth City to find things to do, when you decide you want to, you’ll find even more amazing options within easy commute! Thanks to having an international airport nearby you can get to where you want quickly:
- Atlanta, GA, NYC and Boston – Just over 1hr DIRECT flight
- Dallas – UNDER 2.5hr DIRECT flight
- Chicago, St. Louis, Davenport, and Indianapolis all in under 2-2.5 hours flight.
- Myrtle Beach, Wilmington and Savanah – long weekend drive!

If you want to get away a little farther (or just faster), you’ll love Norfolk International Airport/ORF. Featuring non-stop flights to several major airline hubs, including Orlando, Tampa, NYC, and Atlanta, you’ll find the entire world within easy traveling distance of our local airport! Allegiant, Spirit and Frontier also run non-stop flights to seasonal destinations such as Boston and St. Petersburg Clearwater.

With a population of around 25,000 and a drawing area of 75,000, Elizabeth City is large enough to have many of the amenities of a big city. But it’s small enough to feel like home. Whether you’re single or raising a family, you’ll find plenty of great things to do! Anything else you could want is 45 minutes away in Hampton Roads. small
Nightlife
Downtown Elizabeth City features a wide selection of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. Whether you’re looking for live music or a game of darts, and pool or karaoke, a place where everyone knows your name or a place where you can get lost in the crowd, you’ll find there’s a place like that for you!
Higher Education
Elizabeth City is home to three universities: Elizabeth City State University, MACU – Mid-Atlantic Christian University and College of the Ablemarle are also located here. In addition, there are multiple universities that are all within a roughly one-hour drive. Old Dominion, Christopher Newport, Regent and Hampton University
Family Fun
Elizabeth City is a wonderful place to raise a family! There are a multitude of neighborhood parks. In addition, there are several large parks spread around the area. The Parks and Rec programs in both cities are very active, providing a plethora of things for kids to do not only all summer long but all year round! Summer theater, kids-only concerts, movies in the park, and more happen frequently around town!

The economic outlook for Elizabeth City looks very good indeed! We have the largest Coast Guard Airstation in the world right here. Tons of USCG service members, civilians, and contractors. The medical community is making a huge investment in a new hospital and outpatient offices. Our community is full of Navy, Marine, Air Force and Army service members who live here but commute up to Norfolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News and Virginia Beach for work daily.
